Nevada State College offers an RN-to-BSN program that is specifically designed to ensure that working nurses can balance their studies with their professional obligations. This program features fully online and asynchronous coursework, multiple start dates throughout the year, a generous transfer policy, and field experience requirements that students can meet at their current place of employment. More than 90% of faculty who teach in the program have received specialized training in distance education. Online learners at NSC also enjoy a variety of support services, including web-based tutoring, 24/7 technical support, and personalized feedback on essays and research papers. You must currently hold a nursing license to apply to this program. Generally, prospective students also need an associate degree from an accredited institution earned with at least a 2.0 GPA, though the college does provide provisional admission to some nurses who hold nursing diplomas. Applicants can expect to receive their admission decision within 24-48 hours.

Admissions Breakdown
Acceptance Rate Insight
81% of students were accepted during the 2020-2021 school year. Sometimes schools with midrange acceptance rates have higher standards of entry but are still accessible to many students who apply.
Retention Rate Insight
80% of full-time students stayed to continue their studies the following academic year. These students started in Fall 2019 and returned in Fall 2020.
Graduation Rate Insight
44% of students graduated out of all full-time, first-time students who began their studies in Fall 2014. Keep in mind many students who enroll are not typically first-time students, as most are adult learners. Therefore, the number of first-time students is traditionally low.
