Great Basin College exclusively serves undergraduate students through more than 50 associate, bachelor's, and certificate programs. Fully online areas of study at the college include early childhood education, graphic communication, computer programming, and medical coding and billing. Online students at GBC enjoy access to the same services available to on-campus learners. For example, the college's academic success center provides free access to tutoring, study skills workshops, proctored exams, and writing assistance. In addition, all online learners are matched with a dedicated advisor who provides support throughout the enrollment, credit transfer, and/or financial aid application processes. As an open-admission institution, GBC welcomes all students, regardless of their academic background. Applicants must submit high school or GED transcripts and take a placement exam, though the college waives this requirement for prospective students who have taken the ACT or SAT. To transfer credit earned at another regionally accredited college or university, you must have earned at least a 2.0 GPA in your prior coursework.

Admissions Breakdown
Acceptance Rate Insight
81% of students were accepted during the 2020-2021 school year. Sometimes schools with midrange acceptance rates have higher standards of entry but are still accessible to many students who apply.
Retention Rate Insight
80% of full-time students stayed to continue their studies the following academic year. These students started in Fall 2019 and returned in Fall 2020.
Graduation Rate Insight
44% of students graduated out of all full-time, first-time students who began their studies in Fall 2014. Keep in mind many students who enroll are not typically first-time students, as most are adult learners. Therefore, the number of first-time students is traditionally low.
