Featuring more than 70 fully online and accredited programs, Kansas State University ranks as the best online college in Kansas. In addition to certificates, distance learners can earn bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in fields such as animal science, electrical and computer engineering, personal financial planning, and youth development. In an effort to make online education even more accessible, K-State offers scholarships specifically for students pursuing their undergraduate or graduate degree online. To receive consideration for one or more of the university's Global Campus Scholarships, online learners complete only one application per year. The university awards scholarships on the basis of financial need and academic merit, and additional funding is available to military service members, teachers, and female students. Admission requirements vary across online programs, but undergraduate applicants typically must possess a high school diploma or GED certificate. Some bachelor's programs may also require ACT or SAT scores. Prospective graduate learners generally need a bachelor's degree and may also need to submit letters of recommendation and GRE or GMAT scores.

Admissions Breakdown
Acceptance Rate Insight
94% of students were accepted during the 2020-2021 school year. Sometimes schools with midrange acceptance rates have higher standards of entry but are still accessible to many students who apply.
Retention Rate Insight
87% of full-time students stayed to continue their studies the following academic year. These students started in Fall 2019 and returned in Fall 2020.
Graduation Rate Insight
68% of students graduated out of all full-time, first-time students who began their studies in Fall 2014. Keep in mind many students who enroll are not typically first-time students, as most are adult learners. Therefore, the number of first-time students is traditionally low.
