Affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Synod, Bethany Lutheran College serves a small student body of about 750 learners from its campus in Mankato. Offering undergraduate education exclusively, BLC emphasizes the liberal arts from a Christian perspective, with 27 majors available, including American studies, exercise science, legal studies, media arts, and special education. Students can also pursue seven pre-professional programs that prepare graduates for advanced study in fields such as law, medicine, dentistry, seminary, and pharmacy. BLC offers comprehensive support to all of its students, including academic advising and student mentoring. The school pairs each student with a faculty advisor, who assists with course selections and degree planning. Students also receive support within their own major from experienced faculty members. BLC offers free academic tutoring in math and writing through its academic resource center, and academic coordinators can also connect students to subject-specific tutors.

Admissions Breakdown
Acceptance Rate Insight
51% of students were accepted during the 2020-2021 school year. Sometimes schools with midrange acceptance rates have higher standards of entry but are still accessible to many students who apply.
Retention Rate Insight
91% of full-time students stayed to continue their studies the following academic year. These students started in Fall 2019 and returned in Fall 2020.
Graduation Rate Insight
85% of students graduated out of all full-time, first-time students who began their studies in Fall 2014. Keep in mind many students who enroll are not typically first-time students, as most are adult learners. Therefore, the number of first-time students is traditionally low.
