A private liberal arts institution in Bethany, Southwestern Christian University delivers Christ-centered associate, bachelor's, and master's degrees rooted in a Pentecostal heritage. The online bachelor's of professional leadership with a social service concentration prepares graduates for careers in psychology. Courses focus on social psychology, juvenile delinquency, crisis intervention, substance abuse and chemical dependence, and cultural anthropology. This program does not require in-person attendance. SCU's distance courses use an asynchronous format, which allows students to learn on their own time within set deadlines. Online learners can access digital databases, librarian support, technical support, and academic counselors. Students who require additional assistance with assignments can schedule appointments during professors' digital office hours or online tutoring sessions through SCU's Tutor U program.
