Kentucky State University is a public, land-grant institution located in the state capital of Frankfort. KSU serves a diverse student body numbering approximately 2,200 each year and boasts the lowest student-to-faculty ratio among public colleges in Kentucky. Online offerings at KSU include seven fully online programs and more than 50 individual classes. The online doctor of nursing practice program prepares baccalaureate RNs for careers as adult gerontological primary care practitioners in just three years of study plus practicum work. Students interested in aquaculture can pursue a certificate in aquaculture/aquatic sciences. Undergraduate admission requirements to KSU include a 2.5 minimum GPA and qualifying test scores (at least 18 on the ACT or 960 on the SAT). Graduate admission requirements vary by program, but all applicants must provide a resume, three references, and graduate test scores.

Admissions Breakdown
Acceptance Rate Insight
73% of students were accepted during the 2020-2021 school year. Sometimes schools with midrange acceptance rates have higher standards of entry but are still accessible to many students who apply.
Retention Rate Insight
67% of full-time students stayed to continue their studies the following academic year. These students started in Fall 2019 and returned in Fall 2020.
Graduation Rate Insight
51% of students graduated out of all full-time, first-time students who began their studies in Fall 2014. Keep in mind many students who enroll are not typically first-time students, as most are adult learners. Therefore, the number of first-time students is traditionally low.
