Eastern Oregon University is a public, state-funded institution located in La Grande. EOU offers comprehensive education options for approximately 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students each year. More than half of all EOU students take at least one class through a flexible delivery format, either online or at one of 11 regional learning centers. Distance learners can pursue their bachelor's degree entirely online. EOU offers more than 30 majors and minors, including an individualized integrative studies option. Available graduate programs include a fully online MBA, a fully online master's in education, and two low-residency master's degrees in teaching and creative writing, respectively. First-time freshmen must submit a completed application, transcripts, and ACT or SAT scores. All applicants must pay a $50 fee. Prospective transfer students must demonstrate a minimum 2.25 GPA on prior college coursework. State residency does not impact online tuition costs.

Admissions Breakdown
Acceptance Rate Insight
82% of students were accepted during the 2020-2021 school year. Sometimes schools with midrange acceptance rates have higher standards of entry but are still accessible to many students who apply.
Retention Rate Insight
85% of full-time students stayed to continue their studies the following academic year. These students started in Fall 2019 and returned in Fall 2020.
Graduation Rate Insight
69% of students graduated out of all full-time, first-time students who began their studies in Fall 2014. Keep in mind many students who enroll are not typically first-time students, as most are adult learners. Therefore, the number of first-time students is traditionally low.
